Frequently Asked Questions
First, you’ll schedule a free 15-minute phone call with Dr. Hoffman. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy right now and answer any questions you might have about our practice. If it seems like a good fit, we’ll schedule a 1-hour consultation.
During the consultation, we’ll take a deeper look at your background, current concerns, and goals.
If you’re a parent reaching out about therapy for your child or teen, we’ll schedule two separate 1-hour meetings — one for parents and one for your child or teen — so that everyone has space to share their perspective.
Afterward, we’ll provide clear recommendations for next steps, which often includes ongoing therapy with our team. If we believe another provider or clinic would be a better fit, we’ll share those referrals and help you get connected.
We are an out-of-network practice, which means we don’t work directly with insurance companies. However, we’ll provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.
Many of our clients use their out-of-network benefits and receive some reimbursement for therapy. We recommend checking your coverage in advance. You can ask your insurance company: • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits? • What percentage of each session (CPT code 90834) is reimbursed? • Is there an annual deductible I need to meet first?
We know dealing with insurance can be confusing. We’re happy to walk you through what questions to ask or what to submit if you’re hoping for reimbursement.
Payment is made at the time of each session. We accept all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA cards.
Both! Sessions are held both in person and remotely via telehealth. In person therapy is available on select days in our Columbus Circle office.
Telehealth therapy uses a secure, HIPAA compliant video platform.
Dr. Hoffman is licensed in New York and New Jersey and can provide telehealth services to individuals located in those states. Dr. Bond is available to see clients in New York.
We offer small-group workshops designed to help you build practical coping skills for managing anxiety, stress, burnout, or overwhelm.
Each workshop meets for four 60-minute sessions via Zoom and includes evidence-based tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that you can start using right away.
Workshops are a great option if you’re looking to learn concrete coping strategies without the commitment of regular therapy, or if you'd like to enhance your existing therapy with additional tools for managing anxiety, perfectionism, or stress.
We're currently collecting interest for three upcoming workshops, each focused on a different theme - including anxiety and stress management, navigating your 20s & 30s, and managing perfectionism.
